Even in the covenant with Israel the people were not given the Holy Spirit. But none of the people were given the Holy Spirit. In the Old Testament the One Who became Jesus Christ revealed Himself to Adam and Eve, to all the patriarchs, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and all of those that He dealt with He dealt with directly. However, when Jesus came, and we know that He divested Himself of His power and glory as God to become a pinpoint of life to be begotten in the womb of the virgin Mary. Now we have added something very special to that because God the Father was not revealed in the Old Testament. Keeping mercy to the thousandth generation, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but Who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, to the third and to the fourth generation.'" (vs 5-7). And the LORD passed by before him and proclaimed, 'The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and Truth. Then God came down in power.Įxodus 34:5: "And the LORD came down in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. Moses made two more stones, came back up to have God re-write the ones that he broke. ![]() Exodus 34 says of God that Moses wanted to see God's glory.
